Summary: A young car thief named Kip Raines was contracted to steal 50 cars, but something went wrong and he was unable to complete his mission. The man who hired him for the job, naturally, now wants him dead, so the mission falls to Kip's brother, Memphis. Portrayed by Nicolas Cage, Memphis is a former car thief who had gone straight, but now must gather together his old crew in order to help his brother. Having to avoid a cop and another thief who wants him to back off, Memphis must complete the order in a short period of time and save Kip's life.
Review: The appeal of Gone in Sixty Seconds lasts about sixty seconds ... that's approximately how long Angelina Jolie appears in the movie. She plays one of Memphis' former thieving friends and all implications point to these two as being a lot more than friends years ago. That one line you hear in all the commercials, "What do you like better, having sex ... or stealing cars?" Yeah, that's just about her only line in the movie. As for the rest of the flick, it's great if you love car chases. Lots and lots of car chases. Lacking a believable or particularly suspenseful plot, Gone in Sixty Seconds relies on its cool cars for audience enjoyment. It failed to catch the interest of this movie-goer, but it may not be a lost cause for all.
